Problems with Traditional OTC Probiotics

There are a few issues with current traditional over the counter probiotics. The main issue is that a majority of the actual probiotics don’t survive the gastric system. The harsh conditions that makeup the GI tract can destroy any positive benefits that would be received from said probiotics. Additionally, while there may be some benefit of those that make it through the GI tract, the effects are transient and you will have to continue taking the probiotics to continue receiving the benefits. Another issue that comes along with traditional OTC probiotics is that the finished formulas have not been studied, thus not ensuring any specific benefits that are claimed.

Total Gut Restoration by Microbiome Labs

With all of the above in mind, we are excited to offer our patients the Total Gut Restoration protocol by Microbiome Labs. This is a comprehensive 3 month protocol to address 3 foundational aspects of gut health:

  1. Microbiome diversity
  2. Physical structures
  3. Immune function

Step 1: Recondition the gut with MegaSpore Biotic (Weeks 1-12), survives the gut by 100%, creates foundational microbial changes, and produces important metabolites

Step 2: Reinforce the gut with MegaPre Prebiotic (Weeks 5-12), a precision prebiotic that selectively feeds beneficial species

Step 3: Rebuild the gut with MegaMucosa (Weeks 9-12), mucosal support designed to rebuild a healthy mucosal barrier.
